Shipbuilding steel plate (AH36, DH36): class-approved sourcing guide
Shipbuilding plates are classified under IACS rules: A–E are normal-strength and AH/DH/EH high-strength grades, the letter indicating the impact test temperature. Each plate should carry the class society stamp (DNV, ABS, LR, BV, Türk Loydu…) and a type 3.2 certificate.
Antifouling & marine coatings: selection and sourcing guide
Antifouling paints prevent marine growth on the hull and cut fuel consumption. Under the IMO AFS Convention they must be TBT-free; choosing between self-polishing (SPC) and silicone foul-release systems depends on trading pattern and dry-docking interval.
Copper-nickel 90/10 seawater piping systems
CuNi 90/10 is the standard material for ship cooling, ballast and fire-main lines thanks to its natural resistance to seawater corrosion and biofouling. Pipes, flanges and elbows should come from the same standard set (EEMUA 144/146) and a class-approved mill.
Marine bunker fuels (VLSFO, MGO) sourcing guide
Under MARPOL Annex VI the global sulphur cap is 0.50% and 0.10% in ECAs. For VLSFO and MGO purchases, ISO 8217 compliance, the bunker delivery note (BDN), MARPOL sample, independent fuel testing and quantity survey are the basis of reliable supply.
